I was privileged to watch Jeremy and Zack together as part of Diem 25 hosted by Yanis Varoufakis.
The former Greek finance Minister tried several times to persuade them to announce an alliance live on stage.
It didn’t happen immediately, but it might in the future, because they and Grace Blakely were all agreed that community organising was the main building block – and that every radical group had to come together and collaborate .
Every speaker last night confirmed their commitment to community building, community ownership, and called for an end to factionalism. That is fertile ground for off-grid technology to take hold, because the technology such as heating, electric and water management, enables and finances the community-building we all want to see.
Every household in Britain pays an average £1750 for energy, so off-grid heating and electricity could become the financial engine of the UK community movement.
Cheaper and faster than the grid, with its 5-year waiting list, off-grid energy is power we control when the grid goes down. Once energy supplies are established, community housing and food production can follow.
